What we collect
When you make an inquiry or place an order, we collect: name, email address, phone number, business details (for trade applicants — company name, VAT number, HMRC trader number), and the contents of your message. When you create a trader account we additionally store your motor trade insurance certificate.
Why we collect it (lawful basis under UK GDPR)
(a) Contract — to perform the contract of sale, including handover, delivery, and after-sales service.(b) Legitimate interest — to verify trader status, maintain inventory records, and respond to enquiries.(c) Legal obligation — to comply with VAT, HMRC, and motor-trade regulatory requirements.(d) Consent — where you opt into marketing communications.
How long we keep it
Customer and trader records are retained for the period required by HMRC and motor-trade record-keeping rules (typically six years), then deleted or anonymised.
Sharing
We share data with logistics providers (delivery), warranty providers (where you purchase warranty), payment processors, and HMRC where required by law. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Your rights
You have the right to: access your data, correct it, request erasure, object to processing, request portability, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Contact us using the email above to exercise any of these rights.
